York Tote Bag

York is a beautifully old, walled city in the north of England. Built by the Romans, improved by the Anglo Saxons, modernised by the Normans, tailored by the Tudors and further fashioned by the Regents, York reveals layer upon layer of architectural styles relating to different periods in British history. Walking through the cobbled streets of York is like walking through the last two centuries in Britain. The iconic and ecclesiastical York Minster stands proud above the city, as indeed it does in reality in the Vale of York. I remember visiting York Minster as a nine year old child and looking up at its high vaulted ceiling, mesmerised by its size and age. I still have the awe of a child and when I draw York, as in everywhere else. That nine year old girl is still in there, amazed and charmed by the world around her.
