Western Australia Tote Bag

The pink rocks and desert of West Australia were amazing to look at and draw. I've never seen them face up but realise now that I have to… they are unique and also home to some super cute wildlife too! I love the fresh, aqua blue sea, where whales and dolphins dive and jump about as well as the huge waterfalls of Kununurra, spilling out onto the little tourist boat below. It's a stark contrast with the hot, dry inland deserts, through which there are few settlements (apart from evidence of the gold rush such as at Kalgoorlie) but lots of tracks of 4x4s, mountain bikes and the local critters. Vegetation is sparse in my drawing of Western Australia and the real oasis is the city and skyline of Perth that springs up from the Swan River. The river is home to the beautiful black swan and many years ago some British aristocrat brought them back to England near to where I live to keep as a pet. So I also have black swans swimming down my local river. Every time I see them I think of Perth and my Western Australia illustration!
