Wales Tote Bag

Wales is a green and beautiful land where I've spent many a happy holiday climbing hills and splashing about in the sea (albeit not for long as it was freezing cold). I remember camping on the Llyn Peninsula as a child and on Anglesey as a young woman and fell in love with the ancient and mysterious castles as well as the villages in the valleys beyond. My illustration of Wales includes many castles and it's hard for me to choose which ones to include and which ones to leave out as there is simply not enough space. So I apologies if I've offended anyone by not including a historic Welsh landmark. I love including the icons that shape the character of a country and in the case of Wales it's the leek, sheep and mountain goat as well as the nation's symbolic bird - the red kite that soars above the land in the top right of my design.  Waterfalls and forests, mountains and valleys of green, slate mines, quarries and coal pits all feature in my design as the natural and man made landscape merge to form Wales's unique and rich, cultural and industrial heritage.
