Pennsylvania Greeting Card

JG109440

Pennsylvania is traditional, mountain state, in the north east of America, through which the Appalachian Mountains run, which includes the forested peaks of the Allegheny National Forest.

Pennsylvania is home to the declining industrial but creatively rich cities of Erie and Pittsburgh and I've drawn the latter with some of its iconic, arched, steel bridges as well as local hero Andy Warhol. William Penn, whom the state is named after, looks over this resource rich region, where Amish farmers plough their fields and which is home to the Liberty Bell in the dynamic city of Philadelphia.

The Delaware River and Monongahela River frames the state, from east to west. The Gettysburg battlefield and iconic state capitol at Harrisburg all feature within my vision of The Keystone State of Pennsylvania.

All my state scapes are full of symbols that embody the character of each unique region and in Pennsylvania we can find the white tailed deer, mountain laurel flower, a couple of loved up ruffed grouse together with the iconic Philly cheesesteak and pretzel. And of course, a tin of Heinz soup, elevated from store cupboard item to fine art by the aforementioned Mr Warhol.

Julia's vision of Pennsylvania makes a cute and collectable greeting-card and is also available as a beautiful Art Print for your home.
