Montana Greeting Card

Montana is Big Sky Country. I flew over this state on my way from Oregon to Toronto and was in awe of the multitude of icy, mountain peaks of the Rocky Mountains and the Glacier National Park that lay below me. In my illustration of this wonderful, American state, bison roam the plains of the National Bison Range and brown bears wander through the wilderness and down to the Upper Missouri River in search of fish.

Helena is the State Capitol and marks the centre of my design. Lumber has been a key industry for Montana and you can see two lumberjacks sawing away at a tree, above Billings. Cowboys and Indians circle each other and Montana is home to the big native Indian gathering, Crow Fair and the birthplace of the legendary Sitting Bull. Today, Montana is a wonderful, outdoor playground and people flock here to ski, fish, hike and generally enjoy the great outdoors. One day, I will go too... :-)
