Lancashire Postcard

JG155030

My illustration of Lancashire captures two sides of this northern county of England.  On the left we have the razzle dazzle of the seaside, where ballroom dancers waltz the night away at glittering Blackpool Tower. On the right we have the Forest of Bowland and bleak and wild hills, where women were once tried and died as witches. Lancashire is also an essential part of the Industrial North and as such Ormskirk, Accrington, Leyland and Bacup feature in the design, with Preston and Chorley taking centre stage. A carefree Eric Morecombe beckons for the sunshine to appear and indeed it does. Lancashire’s beloved eponymous dish: The Lancashire Hot Pot is featured in the design as does the iconic Forton Tower at the services on the M6, where I remember stopping as a child and was in awe of its modernity.

Julia's vision of Lancashire makes a cute and collectable postcard and is also available as a beautiful Art Print for your home.
