Guernsey Postcard

JG061830

Guernsey is a little island, which although forms part of Great Britain and is not part of the UK or the EU, it lies just off the coast of France. It's confusing, it's political... let's leave it at that. :-) Surrounded by sea, it is a haven for coastal birds such as the two puffins that are fighting over the catch of the day in my illustration of Guernsey. Dolphins skim across the sea and a crab finds a nice little space for herself just off the south east coast.

St Peter Port is the main town and the island is divided into ten parishes, much of which is rolling, rural landscape and stunning beaches and cliffs. Known for its mild climate and fertile earth, it produces lots of wonderful fruit and veg and I've been eating tomatoes and potatoes from Guernsey all of my life. I love the little Hedge Veg stalls that fringe the roadside, which shows great entrepreneurial spirit and is surely the best way to get your 5-a-day.

Julia's vision of Guernsey makes a cute and collectable postcard and is also available as a beautiful Art Print for your home.
