This summer was the hottest on record in the UK. We sizzled and scorched our way through June, July and August. Living by the sea in Devon, I was lucky enough to be able to cool off in the ocean most days and enjoy campfire dinners on the beach at night. I also enjoyed a staycation summer in Cornwall and Pembrokeshire in my campervan, where I also learnt how to bodyboard. I love the coastlines of both regions, which meet the Atlantic Ocean and with that, enjoy the benefits of super surf!
My illustration of Cornwall features many of the tourist landmarks and stunning coastline, as does my design of Pembrokeshire, where I witnessed the solar eclipse. I visited the wonderful city of St. Davids and Melin Tregwynt woollen mill ... I'm a huge fan of their textiles.
I was wowed by the pretty coves along the coastline in Pembrokeshire as well as the relatively empty roads. It was like time gone by and somewhere for my future campervan trips for sure.
I enjoyed a mini city break in Bath, which is home to several of my stockists, including the Roman Baths Museum, Holbourne House and the Jane Austen Centre. It's wonderful to see my art printed onto merchandise such as this stunning tea towel, which is looked on adoringly by the rather handsome Mr Darcy!
For the fourth consecutive year, I went to the amazing Good Vibrations Society Festival in the Ashdown Forest in Sussex. Combining holistic activities such as yoga, meditation and breathwork, as well as dancing into the early hours, Good Vibrations Society has become an important part of my life where I meet up with friends and make new ones.
A wonderful stress-free and sustainable summer of travel, without the need for passports, air miles or currency conversions.
