Last week I vacayed with my campervan Bertha, in the South West of England, travelling through Dorset, Devon and Cornwall, staying at small and sheltered campsites close to the ocean and with that, the South West Coastal Path, where I spent days walking, over cliffs and across beaches and swimming in the sea.
I intermixed my MoHo life with a stay at the luxurious but intimate Hotel Tresanton in St. Mawes. I was commissioned to draw St. Mawes, part of the Polizzi Collection, of which the Hotel Tresanton is one of three hotels belonging to this boutique hotel group. It was wonderful to wander through the hotel's steep terraces, abundant with flora, and look out over the pretty inlet from my private terrace.
I didn't want to leave. Fortunately I was given a gorgeous, canvas tote bag, printed with my illustration of all three hotels, one of which (The Star at Alfriston) is local to me and where I often pop in for lunch or high tea :-)
I was also delighted to hear that Borgo Egnazia, an amazing hotel in Puglia, Italy, has just been recognised as one of the best 50 hotels in the world. A few years ago I created an illustration for this stunning hotel, which was printed onto a natural, canvas tote bag, which they give to their residents.
Whilst I was heading back through Dorset, I also called in to the Symondsbury Estate, which has a lovely collection of shops in rustic barns but also, beautiful cottage holiday lets in West Dorset. This is a favourite part of England for me. I love walking the South West coastal path but it was a highlight of my trip to see my products in store at the Symondsbury Estate and view the iconic Colmers Hill!
Here's to my next MoHo adventure ... or luxury hotel stay wherever that will be? :-)
