Over the last few years I have created over 400 artworks that have been commissioned by universities, colleges and schools across the world. Partnering with specialist licensees who print my artwork onto amazing products, we have created best-selling ranges in campus shops around the globe. Tomorrow I head off to the USA for a whirlwind tour of some of the universities that stock my brand. I will be creating live art events within the campus shops and saying hello to the team that sell my collections as well as some of my fans.
Here's a shortlist of some of my favourite collegiate themed art ...
The University of Leeds in the UK has stocked my brand in their Cats Store for many years. The Leeds Cityscape I drew featured the owl (symbol of wisdom) flying above the iconic university building. As one of the Advisory Board Members to the Business School for a number of years, this was a landscape I got to know very well.
In Canada I have created a number of artworks to celebrate the nation's iconic universities from coast to coast. Here is MacEwen University in Alberta, in their brand colours of maroon and grey. I love drawing ice hockey players ( a guilty pleasure of mine :-) )
Heading south, I have created over three hundred illustrations celebrating America's finest educational institutions including Harvard, Yale, Berkeley and Brown. I love the collegiate art that I create that combines campus culture with the local landscape such as the one I drew for Montana State University ...
The artworks are made into beautiful products and one of my favourite collections is this beautiful red and blue range for the University of Kansas. I add in state symbols such as the state bird and flower and their brand logos and mascots are a key part of university themed designs too.
And finally, tomorrow I head to Ithaca, upstate New York and Cornell University, where I will be drawing the campus themed illustration I created for them and which sells onto giftware and homeware in their stores. Hello Cornell ...
Howdy Ithaca!
