I alI have spent the last few days under an umbrella of shimmering gold ... this is Fall in upstate New York ... Ithaca to be specific. A vivid blue sky and vibrant orange landscape, reflected in the region's many lakes and tumbling rivers, left me breathless.
I came here to create a piece of live art for The Cornell Store, which lies at the beating heart of Cornell University, one of America's most prestigious educational establishments. I collaborated with Cornell a few years ago, through my USA licensee, to create a best-selling giftware range, printed with my illustration of Cornell's campus and unique culture in their brand colours of red and black.
It was wonderful to have the opportunity to meet the team that put together this amazing collection and to say hello to some of my super fans here at Cornell. We created a colouring in table and I signed art prints as a gift with purchase.
I also have created artwork for Ithaca College and so it was wonderful to happen across this gift and homeware collection at the Sunny Days store on The Commons in Downtown Ithaca.
My weekend has been spent exploring the region's many hiking trails and stunning waterfalls, such as this beauty at Taughannock Falls. My Ithaca tote bag, part of another collection sold by The Cornell Store, helped guide my way :-)
It's hard to leave this beautiful pocket of America but onwards I must go, to my next university visit (Syracuse) and live art (University of Wisconsin - Madison).
Ciao Cornell, Au Revoir Ithaca x
