It's been four long years since I was in Toronto, grounded by the Covid lockdowns and then being practically tied to my drawing board, as demand for my art surged as we all resurfaced. I have family here and with that, a deep connection to a city that I have come to know and love across four decades. Here's my latest vision of Toronto, created for my licensee: Lifestyle Market.
I first met Winnie, and then Carmen from Lifestyle Market, way back in 2013 at a trade show in New York. We have worked continuously ever since, growing our relationship from distribution of my brand, to licensing. They make wonderful products in Canada, printed with my artwork, celebrating cities and universities across the nation. Best selling products are the natural, canvas tote bag with my trademark red white and blue woven handles.
Here we are celebrating our 10th anniversary and signing off some new products :-)
Many museum gift stores and independent shops throughout Canada stock my brand and so today I headed to the Bata Shoe Museum, which has been on my bucket list for a very long time, and I got to see my tote bags in their store, as well as some amazing shoes of course!
We are continually working on new projects, more recently, celebrating some of Canada's prestigious universities. Here is my illustration of McMaster University and the University of Toronto product range will be launched later this year.
I also got to kick start my big birthday celebrations in Canada, whilst staying with my sister upstate Ontario. It's a year long of celebrations as I enter my 7th decade, launched in Toronto! :-)
