With summer fast approaching, and the country stepping its way out of lockdown, we are all searching for some much needed holiday time in the sun. Holidaying at home has become the tourist destination of the summer, whether that's a weekend in the Cotswolds, several days by the seaside or a city break in our country's capital.
Some of the most popular locations for travellers this year include London, Edinburgh, Brighton and Newquay.
One of my favourite counties to visit is beautiful Cornwall. The endless beaches and pretty ports, accompanied by the consumption of pasties and local ciders fill me with delight.
Moving up along the coastline you find yourself in Devon, a place I am lucky to call my home, with Dorset sitting right next door. Both Devon and Dorset are known for the Jurassic Coast, and the breathtaking coastal paths.
Another seaside town I love to visit is Brighton. Home to quirky shops spotted down quaint cobbled streets and the charming Victorian Palace Pier. It is such a fun and vibrant town where I have created many happy memories.
If the seaside is not your thing, and you prefer to indulge yourself in nature, the Lake District or Loch Lomond are the perfect places for you, the scenery is just incredible. Put on your hiking boots and explore the majestic lakes, lofty mountains and luscious forests.
Alternatively, holiday in your home country with a city break. My most beloved choice of city has to be Bath. Each time my train rolls up to Bath Spa station and I see all of the beautiful sand-coloured Georgian architecture I am filled with joy.
There truly is no place like home...
