Pacific Northwest Tour: Vancouver BC

Last week I took a plane, train and automobile to get from Devon, England to Vancouver BC on the west coast of Canada. Despite the fact that I’ve had family here since the late 1960’s I’ve never visited this wonderful city until now. My work tends to mean that I head east when I travel with work.  After several hours of travelling and watching movies I found myself flying in over the Canadian Rockies as the sun was setting, providing a stunning entrance into Vancouver.

As a budding birder I was delighted to see bald eagles at Squamish, fishing for salmon, which was a real treat. Set against a backdrop of snow-capped mountains, fringed with mile upon mile of fir trees, this is truly a stunning part of the world and it was great to see it under a bright blue, winter sky. 

Catching up with family after so many years was wonderful. I hadn’t seen cousin Gabe for 45 years! We made the most of our time together and enjoyed the rather wobbly Capilano Suspension Bridge leading the way to a whole forest of Christmas trees lit up … well like Christmas trees!

I managed to fit in a meeting whilst I was here in Vancouver of course and it meant that I had the opportunity to meet with the lovely Carmen from Lifestyle Market again. 

Working together means that we will soon be getting a refreshed Vancouver design and product range into the airport and hopefully beyond and into the city.  And here it is ...
